Introduction
PAGE RESEARCH CENTRE LIBRARY
The Page Research Centre Board has embarked on an ambitious project to create a Page Research Centre Library housing records from the National Party and its ministers, backbenchers and officials. The objective is to provide an indispensable resource for historical researchers and for those interested in the development of the party and its precursors, the Australian Country Party and the National Country Party.
There are two strands to the project:
The first is a physical collection of original records—minute books, subject and correspondence files, letters, diaries, engagement books, reports, photographs and press cuttings.
The second is a virtual, online resource with details of records held in the Page Research Centre Library as well as in other archives and manuscript libraries throughout Australia.
The Page Research Centre Library’s collection is housed at the CSU Regional Archives ( www.csu.edu.au/research/archives) in Wagga Wagga. CSU Regional Archives is an approved State Records NSW regional repository and manages public and private records, among them significant consignments from thirteen National Party figures: Tim Fischer, Tom Bull, Charles Hardy, Ian Armstrong, George Freudenstein, Noel Hicks, WW Killen, Joe Lawson, Stephen Lusher, JA Pettit, Jim Small, John W Sullivan and JH Taylor.
